A+ Federal Credit Union Awards $150,000 in Scholarships to 75 Students

The A+ Federal Credit Union (A+FCU) Board of Directors has proudly granted $150,000 in scholarships to 75 high school and college students across Texas for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. This increase in annual scholarship funding, marking the credit union’s 75th Anniversary, has enabled 15 additional students to benefit from A+FCU scholarships, each receiving $2,000 to support their educational expenses.

“This year’s recipients have demonstrated exceptional academic achievements and community engagement, embodying the spirit of our longstanding commitment to supporting education,” remarked Terry Lord, A+FCU Board Member and Scholarship Committee Chair. “As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we are privileged to recognize these deserving students and their dedication to academic excellence and community service.”

A+FCU’s scholarship tradition has benefited over 600 students, totaling more than $1.1 million in support for college pursuits. Recipients were selected based on their academic accomplishments and community contributions, representing a diverse array of educational institutions, including 10 universities, 33 high schools, and 1 homeschool certification.

“I am deeply grateful for the impact that this scholarship from A+FCU has had on my journey toward earning my graduate degree,” shared Michelle LeBlanc, a student at Texas State University pursuing an M.Ed. in Reading Specialization. “A+FCU’s support in helping me achieve my academic goals speaks volumes about their dedication to our community.”

The recipients were honored at the A+FCU Scholarship Ceremony held on May 15. For more information about the awardees and to view the announcement video, please visit A+FCU’s scholarship page.
