Snowden Lane Partners, a leading independent, advisor-owned wealth advisory firm, has announced the appointment of Alex Bryer to its leadership team. Bryer will play a pivotal role in the firm’s business development strategy, a move that underscores Snowden Lane’s commitment to growth and client-focused service within a values-driven culture.
Strengthening Business Development
In his expanded role, Bryer will continue to serve as a Senior Partner and Managing Director, overseeing the firm’s Bethesda, Maryland office and providing advisory services to clients. Additionally, he will take on a national recruiting role, collaborating with Snowden Lane’s leadership and advisors to identify and attract high-performing financial advisory teams. By coordinating with external recruiters, Bryer aims to enhance the firm’s recruitment capabilities and strengthen its advisor network.
“Alex is an experienced, senior leader at Snowden Lane who has already demonstrated his ability to recruit quality advisors and substantially grow his own practice,” said Greg Franks, Snowden Lane’s Managing Partner, President, and COO. “He has been a strong advocate in the development of our firm and is extremely well-suited to take on this critical role. We’re confident Alex will be invaluable in accelerating our firm’s growth in 2025 and beyond.”
A Year of Milestones
Bryer’s appointment follows a banner year for Snowden Lane. Since September 2023, the firm has welcomed 13 financial advisors, bringing in $1.8 billion in new client assets. This growth has contributed to a 20% year-over-year increase in revenue and the establishment of new offices in Boca Raton, FL; Golden, CO; and Philadelphia, PA.
The firm has also expanded its leadership team, recently appointing Senior Partner and Managing Director Armando Ureña to its Operating Committee. This role enables Ureña to represent existing advisors and strengthen leadership across key business lines.
“We’re excited to have Alex in this new position, which is a testament to his outstanding contributions to Snowden Lane,” said Rob Mooney, Snowden Lane’s Managing Partner and CEO. “Ensuring our existing advisors play key roles in the future of our firm is a priority. Alex is an ideal reflection of our firm’s values for prospective advisors.”
Looking Toward the Future
Bryer expressed enthusiasm about his new role, emphasizing Snowden Lane’s unique position in the wealth advisory space. “I believe our firm is at an inflection point, and I’m looking forward to playing a positive role in Snowden Lane’s continued evolution,” Bryer said. “While many firms in the independent channel share similar origin stories, I believe Snowden Lane’s platform and model are truly unique and can serve advisors at all stages of their careers. I’m excited to share more details on those differentiators with prospective advisors in this new position and discuss the exciting news and rollouts we have planned for 2025.”
A Proven Leader
Bryer joined Snowden Lane Partners in 2015 and has since built a thriving practice, including six advisors managing over $1 billion in client assets. Before joining Snowden Lane, he spent 21 years at Merrill Lynch, where he served as a Senior Resident Director, overseeing multiple offices in the Washington, D.C. area. Bryer is a graduate of the University of Maryland and brings decades of experience and a proven track record of success to his expanded role.
