MetLife Appoints New Global Head of Reinsurance and Chief Auditor

MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) has announced the appointment of Toby Srihiran Brown as global head of reinsurance, effective October 1. In this role, Brown will develop and oversee MetLife’s comprehensive reinsurance strategy, managing all aspects of the reinsurance process, including deal origination, structuring, negotiation, execution, and ongoing monitoring. He will report to John McCallion, chief financial officer of MetLife, Inc., and head of MetLife Investment Management.

Brown, who currently serves as MetLife’s chief auditor, will be succeeded in that position by Rob Dill, the company’s chief financial officer for the Latin America region. Dill will report directly to the Audit Committee of MetLife’s Board of Directors, with an administrative reporting line to MetLife President and CEO Michel Khalaf.

“Reinsurance provides us with capital flexibility and enhances the competitiveness of our pricing,” said Khalaf. “Toby has extensive experience in risk management, governance, and control functions across MetLife’s global operations and will bring valuable insights to his new role. Rob has been an outstanding CFO for Latin America and will excel as the leader of a vital function that safeguards and enhances our company.”

Before his role as chief auditor, Brown served as chief operating officer of MetLife Japan and joined the company in 2010 through MetLife’s acquisition of ALICO from AIG. He became regional CFO of MetLife Asia in 2011.

Dill, with nearly 24 years at MetLife, has held various leadership roles, including U.S. controller, before becoming CFO for Latin America.
