SmartMetric Launches Revolutionary Biometric Credit Card
SmartMetric, Inc. (OTC: SMME) has unveiled its groundbreaking biometric credit card technology, offering a solution to the pervasive issue of credit card data breaches. Studies indicate that up to 80% of all credit cards in circulation have been compromised by hacks or data breaches, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced security measures in the banking industry.
“We are excited to have finally reached the stage of commercialization of our one-of-a-kind advanced fingerprint-activated biometric credit card,” said SmartMetric’s President and CEO, Chaya Hendrick.
SmartMetric leads the world in biometric credit card technology with its development of a card featuring an internal rechargeable battery. This battery powers the fingerprint scanning of the card user independently of card reading terminals and ATMs, allowing the SmartMetric biometric card to be used “anywhere and anytime” a cardholder desires.
“With so many credit card data breaches leaving a cardholder’s credit card information in the hands of card fraud criminals, the use of on-card biometric identity validation security has become a necessity,” added Chaya Hendrick.
The advanced SmartMetric biometric card boasts several features, including hardware-based detection of a live finger. This provides added security against fake fingerprint replicas, making the SmartMetric biometric card one of the most secure cards developed to date.
Enrolling a user’s fingerprint is as easy and seamless as enrolling one on a smartphone. Upon receiving the card, the user simply touches the card’s fingerprint sensor four times. This permanently stores the user’s fingerprint in the card, ensuring that the card is only usable when the owner touches the sensor to activate it at the time of making a payment.
Market research has indicated a strong demand for biometric fingerprint-secured credit cards, with 70% of current credit card users willing to pay $70.00 for such a card, primarily driven by the desire for enhanced security against credit card fraud.
SmartMetric is nearing completion of its biometric credit card product, with the card currently in the final stages of the lamination process. Once the lamination process is complete, SmartMetric will present its completed biometric GEN4 card to credit card issuers.
The company has established its production capacity to allow for mass card production, with the capability to manufacture over a million cards per month, which can be substantially increased over the next six months.
“We are excited to have finally reached the stage of commercialization of our one-of-a-kind advanced fingerprint-activated biometric credit card,” reiterated Chaya Hendrick, SmartMetric’s President and CEO.
