Generational Group, a leading full-service business advisory firm for middle-market, privately held businesses, is pleased to announce that it has won several honors at the 2024 6th Annual USA Middle Market M&A Atlas Awards.
“This was the strongest field of M&A Advisory firms I have seen yet,” said Brenen Hofstadter, Chief M&A Officer of Generational.
Generational was honored with the following awards:
- USA Investment Banking Firm of the Year, Lower Mid-Markets
- Lower Mid-Markets Deal of the Year: SMG Industries acquisition of Barnhart Transportation
- Women M&A Leadership Atlas Award: Lori Galloway
All winners were recognized at the 6th Annual USA M&A Atlas Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Global M&A Network, on June 24, 2024, at the Metropolitan Club in New York.
The Global M&A Network is a diversified media company and exclusive publisher of the popular “Top Dealmakers” lists. It also hosts industry forums and the world’s prestigious “Atlas Awards” galas, serving the alternative investing, private equity, M&A, restructuring, transactional, and business communities worldwide.
Generational’s Senior Managing Director and M&A – Manufacturing & Wholesale Practice Leader, Phil Pizzurro, led the team that closed the SMG Industries transaction, which took top honors as the Lower Mid-Markets Deal of the Year.
“There were compelling synergies in this partnership, from increased diversification and demand stability to substantial asset and capability cross-selling. There was a massive effort from the SMGI and Barnhart teams constantly working together. In addition, B. Riley Securities, Inc. and the legal advisors each deserve meaningful recognition for this transaction. We’re all excited to witness the enhanced future growth and scale of this combined team,” said Mr. Pizzurro.
Lori Galloway, Executive Managing Director of M&A, Western Region, received the prestigious Women in Leadership Atlas Award. For three decades, Lori Galloway has been involved in all facets of M&A for the middle market, helping business owners sell their companies and prepare for their eventual succession.
“It was a great honor to be recognized as a woman leader in the M&A community. I started my career as an analyst over 30 years ago, eventually becoming one of the first woman dealmakers at a nationally recognized firm, and today I am privileged to lead Generational’s deal team in the West. What I continue to enjoy most about M&A is working with entrepreneurs who are passionate about their businesses. Those businesses are as diverse as the people who run them, and I am always learning something new,” said Mrs. Galloway.
Ryan Binkley, President and CEO of Generational, stated, “To have our firm recognized as the Investment Bank of the Year for Lower Mid-Markets is quite an honor, and a testament to the diligence and dedication to excellence of all our teams. To be seen as one of the leaders in this competitive field is a great tribute. It’s terrific to see Lori Galloway recognized with the Women Leadership Atlas Award. Lori epitomizes our core values, is an outstanding leader, and is very deserving of this honor.”
Binkley added, “I congratulate Phil Pizzuro and the entire team on the Deal of the Year for Lower Mid-Markets. Phil is a true professional and it’s great to see him and his team recognized.”
