Affinity Credit Union Golf Outing Raises $200K for Foundation

Affinity Federal Credit Union (“Affinity”) recently held its annual President’s Invitational Golf Outing, raising over $200,000 for the Affinity Foundation (“Foundation”). The event, which took place on June 10, 2024, welcomed 116 golfers along with additional guests and had the support of 57 sponsors.

The Foundation extends its gratitude to the top sponsors of the event, including Allied Solutions, Fiserv, Vericast, VISA, Inc., New York Red Bulls, and Greenwood Products. This sponsorship is crucial for the Foundation’s efforts to enhance financial wellbeing, promote self-sufficiency, and break the cycle of poverty in Affinity communities.

“We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our partners and sponsors, many of whom return year after year to support the Foundation’s mission,” said Kelly Watts, Executive Director of the Affinity Foundation. “The ongoing demand for programs such as our community grants and Member Relief Fund underscores the ongoing need to assist our local communities thrive and support our members in achieving financial wellness. We are making a meaningful impact and continue to advance the Foundation’s mission.”

The Foundation allocates multi-year and annual grants to community-focused nonprofits, offers academic scholarships, and provides real-time financial assistance to Affinity members in need. The golf outing, along with a cocktail reception and dinner, provided an opportunity to celebrate the Foundation’s achievements over the past year and look forward to future initiatives.

“We appreciate the Foundation’s efforts, especially during challenging economic times when our members are facing inflationary pressures and may benefit from the community resources supported by the Foundation,” said Kevin Brauer, CEO and President of Affinity. “We take pride in serving and supporting our community through the Foundation’s initiatives.”

The event concluded with awards: first prize was claimed by the Fiserv team, second place by Schenck Price, Smith & King LLP, and third place by Olden Lane.
