Venerable Unveils New Leadership Appointments and Promotions

Venerable is pleased to announce significant leadership changes, welcoming George Alvites and Angie Ellis to the organization as Vice President, Head of Audit, and Vice President, Compliance, respectively. In addition, the firm is celebrating the well-earned promotions of Susan Clark and Alexandra Findleton to Vice President roles within their respective departments.

Strengthening Leadership with Strategic Hires
George Alvites: Vice President, Head of Audit

A seasoned leader in audit and risk management, George Alvites brings two decades of experience in the insurance and financial industries. At Venerable, he will oversee the internal audit function, managing daily operations and leading a team of professionals to plan and execute audits effectively. His responsibilities include evaluating controls, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, conducting reviews, and reporting results to senior leadership, external auditors, and the audit committee.

Before joining Venerable, Mr. Alvites held various leadership roles in assurance and advisory services at Prudential Financial, General Electric Capital Corporation, Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd., and Ernst & Young, LLP. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in accounting from The Citadel and an M.B.A. from Fordham University. Additionally, he is a Certified Information Systems Auditor and a Certified Scrum Master. Mr. Alvites will be based in West Chester, Pennsylvania office.

Angie Ellis: Vice President, Compliance

Angie Ellis joins Venerable to oversee multiple compliance functions, ensuring that products, procedures, contracts, and services align with state and federal laws, regulations, and internal standards. With nearly two decades of experience in insurance compliance, she has played key roles in managing regulatory obligations at Venerable and its predecessor companies. Most recently, she contributed to broker-dealer compliance programs at Athene.

Ms. Ellis holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Luther College and is a Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional (CRCP®). She also possesses FINRA Series 6, 26, and 99 licenses. She will be based in Venerable’s Des Moines, Iowa office.

Recognizing Excellence with Well-Deserved Promotions
Susan Clark: Vice President, Human Resources Business Partner

A veteran in human resources, Susan Clark has dedicated nearly two decades to Venerable and its predecessor companies, including ING and Voya. During her tenure, she has supported key business partners through Voya’s IPO and played a crucial role in Venerable’s establishment in 2018.

In her new role, Ms. Clark will continue to serve as a strategic consultant to Venerable’s leadership team, directing HR initiatives such as talent acquisition, talent management, performance management, change management, and employee relations. She holds a degree in psychology and business administration from the University of Northern Iowa.

Alexandra Findleton: Vice President, Corporate Development

Alexandra Findleton has been instrumental in managing underwriting and executing reinsurance and merger and acquisition (M&A) opportunities at She is responsible for sourcing and evaluating strategic initiatives aimed at improving the risk profile and financial performance of the company.

Prior to joining Venerable in 2019, Ms. Findleton worked as a management consultant at Oliver Wyman, where she developed insurance liability models and technology solutions to support annuity sales strategies and policy administration system conversions for life insurance clients. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, with a focus on financial analysis and risk management, from the University of Waterloo.
