Travelex, a leading brand in foreign exchange services, has announced a significant upgrade to its global ATM network, overhauling both hardware and software for its 600 ATMs across eight countries. This initiative introduces a suite of innovative features for Travelex customers, including contactless cash withdrawals. The company is deploying NCR Atleos’ SelfServ ATM series, combined with NCR Atleos’ software and Vision, a SaaS-based monitoring tool, in key markets such as the UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Australia, and New Zealand. Previously, NCR Atleos has provided robust solutions for Travelex ATMs at major airports and travel hubs, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring a consistent customer experience.
The upgraded ATMs will support both foreign exchange and domestic currency transactions, offering enhanced features like touch screens, barcode readers, and contactless readers in select regions. With contactless readers, customers can now withdraw cash by tapping a card or any NFC-enabled device, such as a phone or smartwatch. This capability, though still emerging in many markets, will be available to Travelex customers at select ATMs across Europe.
Additionally, the NCR Atleos SelfServ ATMs will support Travelex’s unique “Click and Collect” service in the UK, allowing customers to pre-order foreign currency online at the best available rate and conveniently collect it from over 50 airport ATM locations.
