Tim Anderson, a well-known institutional capital raiser and former Managing Director at Marquee Capital, has joined Chicago Atlantic, an alternative investments manager. Anderson will lead the firm’s institutional fundraising efforts as Managing Director, Institutional Business Development.
“I was attracted to Chicago Atlantic as a sophisticated alternative investments manager poised for rapid expansion over the next five years – I wanted to be a part of that exciting growth,” said Anderson.
With twenty-three years of experience in alternatives marketing, Anderson has successfully raised capital for multi-strategy hedge funds, credit funds, and a family office-anchored real estate fund. His previous employers include Stark Investments, Trian Credit Partners, 3i Capital, Macquarie, One William Street Capital Management, and Marquee Capital, a real estate firm within the Marcus Family Office.
“I’m continuously impressed with the rigor and thoughtfulness of Chicago Atlantic’s underwriting process, and the patience shown in placing capital with carefully curated senior secured borrowers,” Anderson added.
Chicago Atlantic focuses on preserving capital and generating income through niche, alternative investments where demand for capital exceeds traditional supply. The firm onboarded an institutional investor with over $100 billion in assets under management in Q1 2024.
“Tim’s skill and passion align perfectly with our disciplined yet ever-curious approach to pioneering innovative opportunities,” said Tony Cappell, Chicago Atlantic Founding Partner. “We welcome him wholeheartedly and know his acumen will aptly serve our institutional clients.”
