SoFi (SOFI), a comprehensive digital financial services platform that helps members borrow, save, spend, invest, and protect their money, has announced the launch of its new robo-advisor platform. This platform expands on SoFi’s existing automated investment offerings and is one of the few to provide access to both traditional and alternative asset classes, including sustainability-focused funds. Developed in collaboration with BlackRock Inc. (BLK), the world’s largest asset manager, this new platform makes diversified investment strategies and funds accessible to everyday investors—many of which traditionally require high investment minimums, often reaching seven figures.
The launch follows SoFi’s introduction of alternative investment funds earlier in 2024. With 81% of individuals expressing interest in alternative investments, SoFi is responding to a growing market demand by offering a low-fee, personalized approach to investing through a user-friendly and educational platform.
“Our new robo platform reinforces our commitment to empowering everyday investors,” said Anthony Noto, CEO of SoFi. “We’ve launched one of the most comprehensive offerings of alternative assets from an online brokerage. This launch represents another step in scaling our platform to better meet the needs of more members, regardless of where they are in their financial journey. SoFi Robo Investing helps us fulfill our mission to provide a one-stop financial platform that helps members reach their long-term goals.”
SoFi’s Robo Investing product features always-on automation, combined with expertly curated portfolios, for a 0.25% annual advisory fee. Members can tailor both taxable and non-taxable portfolios to their specific needs. They can choose from three portfolio themes: “Classic,” which offers a balanced mix of stocks and bonds; “Classic with Alternatives,” one of the first to provide access to alternative asset classes such as real estate and multi-strategy funds; and “Sustainable,” a diverse portfolio focused on stocks and bonds with strong environmental, social, and governance practices.
“The combination of automated, high-value investment opportunities, expert-created portfolios, and personalized access to Certified Financial Planners (CFPs) makes this offering an incredibly powerful tool for helping our members achieve their long-term financial goals,” said Brian Walsh, PhD, CFP® and Head of Advice & Planning at SoFi. “We’ve designed the experience to be fully digital—clear, yet customizable—to give our members control over their financial futures.
