Release of UBS’s 2023 Annual and Sustainability Reports

UBS has released its 2023 Annual Report and Sustainability Report, offering a comprehensive overview of its financial performance and sustainability initiatives for the year. The reports provide detailed insights into the bank’s operations, strategic priorities, and efforts towards environmental, social, and governance (ESG) responsibility.

The Annual Report covers key financial metrics, including revenue, profits, and assets under management, providing stakeholders with a transparent view of UBS’s financial health and performance throughout the year. It also outlines the bank’s strategic objectives, achievements, and challenges faced during the reporting period.

In addition to financial performance, the Sustainability Report highlights UBS’s commitment to sustainability and responsible banking practices. It details the bank’s efforts to integrate ESG considerations into its business operations, risk management processes, and investment strategies. The report also showcases UBS’s initiatives to address climate change, promote diversity and inclusion, and support communities through philanthropic activities.

Overall, the publication of the 2023 Annual Report and Sustainability Report demonstrates UBS’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and sustainable business practices, reaffirming its position as a leading global financial institution committed to driving positive change.

Following the publication of the unaudited fourth quarter 2023 financial report on 7 February 2024, adjustments have been made to the acquisition-date fair value estimates in accordance with the 12-month measurement period requirements provided by IFRS 3. This resulted in a USD 1.2 billion adjustment, reducing the negative goodwill to USD 27.7 billion. Consequently, the net profit attributable to shareholders for 2023 was USD 27.8 billion, compared to USD 29 billion previously reported. Diluted earnings per share decreased by USD 0.36 to USD 8.45. Additionally, the Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) capital ratio decreased to 14.4% from 14.5%.

The Sustainability Report outlines UBS’s sustainability and impact strategy, including its efforts to meet clients’ sustainable finance and investing needs. It also details the firm’s ambition to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its scope 1 and 2, and specified scope 3 activities by 2050. The report further provides information on revised decarbonization targets and updates to the sustainability and climate risk policy framework following the acquisition of Credit Suisse.

Both reports, along with associated disclosures, are available for access at and have been filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (Form 20-F for the Annual Report and Form 6-K for the Sustainability Report).

Credit Suisse AG, a company of UBS Group AG, has also published its Annual Report 2023, including audited financial statements for the year ending 31 December 2023, accessible at
