ICE to Launch U.S. Tech Index, Broadens NYSE Index Suite

ICE Expands NYSE Index Family With Launch of New U.S. Tech Benchmark and NYSE-Listed Indices

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE) — Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE: ICE), a leading global provider of financial technology and data services, today announced plans to expand its NYSE family of indices with the introduction of a next-generation U.S. technology index and several new indices focused on NYSE-listed companies. These initiatives aim to better showcase the performance and innovation of the NYSE-listed community.

Later this month, ICE will debut the NYSE Elite Tech 100 Index, a tech-focused benchmark that targets highly liquid, investable U.S.-listed companies leading in technology. The index will draw from companies across all U.S. exchanges, feature dynamic rebalancing (including faster inclusion of IPOs), and is designed to serve as a purer representation of technology market leadership.

In parallel, ICE will expand its suite of indices exclusive to NYSE-listed companies, including:

  • Equal-weight versions of the existing NYSE Composite, U.S. 100, International 100, World Leaders, and TMT indices, offering broader exposure to mid- and small-cap stocks;
  • New sector-specific indices based on ICE Uniform Sector classifications, building on the success of the NYSE Energy and Financials indices, and including float market capitalization and equal-weight sector benchmarks;
  • Texas-focused indices, including one composed of NYSE-listed companies based in Texas, and another tracking companies headquartered or incorporated in the state, aligning with the recent launch of the NYSE Texas exchange.

“Over the past three decades, the ETF market has evolved into a core access point for investors,” said Lynn Martin, President of NYSE Group. “These new indices reflect the innovation and leadership of NYSE-listed companies and offer transparent, liquid instruments for market participants.”

With over $2 trillion in AUM benchmarked to ICE Indices, ICE administers more than 7,000 indices spanning equities, fixed income, currencies, commodities, and mortgages. Its long-standing track record of index development supports a wide range of institutional and retail investment strategies globally.
