Northern Trust’s FlexShares Exchange Traded Funds Announces Liquidation of the FlexShares ESG & Climate Emerging Markets Core Index Fund (Ticker: FEEM)
FlexShares Exchange Traded Funds, a division of Northern Trust, has announced the liquidation and termination of the FlexShares ESG & Climate Emerging Markets Core Index Fund (Ticker: FEEM). The process of closing down and liquidating the fund’s portfolio will take place prior to and through the close of regular trading on the NYSE Arca, Inc. on or about April 23, 2024 (the “Closing Date”).
Key points regarding the liquidation:
- The Fund will cease accepting orders for the purchase of creation units on or about April 19, 2024.
- Trading of the Fund’s shares will be suspended before the open of regular trading on the NYSE Arca on April 24, 2024. The final date of trading for the Fund’s shares will be April 23, 2024.
- Shareholders have the option to sell their shares on or before the close of trading on April 23, 2024. Those who do not sell their shares by this date will receive cash equal to the net asset value of their shares as of the close of business on the Closing Date. Proceeds of the liquidation are expected to be sent to shareholders around April 30, 2024.
- Shareholders remaining in the Fund on the Closing Date will not incur transaction fees, but the net asset value of the Fund on that date will reflect trading costs associated with the sale of portfolio securities.
