FHLB Dallas and Community 1st Bank Las Vegas Award $9K Grant to Las Vegas Arts Council

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas), in partnership with Community 1st Bank, has awarded a $9,000 Partnership Grant Program (PGP) to the Las Vegas Arts Council to support economic and artistic development in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

The grant includes $1,500 from Community 1st Bank, matched with $7,500 from FHLB Dallas. The Las Vegas Arts Council will share the funds with MainStreet de Las Vegas to maximize their collective impact.

The PGP program provides a 5:1 match of member contributions—up to $25,000 per member—to assist community-based organizations engaged in affordable housing or economic development.

Supporting Local Creativity and Economic Growth

The Las Vegas Arts Council will use the funds to enhance the creative economy by offsetting costs for gallery spaces, art exhibits, and craft shows.
“This grant will bolster our efforts to attract people to the region and continue making this area more vibrant,” said Richard Lindeborg, Board President of the Las Vegas Arts Council. “It helps attract visitors to support local artists, eat in local restaurants, and stay in our community.”

MainStreet de Las Vegas, which will receive a portion of the grant, plans to focus on downtown economic development and infrastructure projects.
“With these grant funds, MainStreet can enhance its projects that help downtown businesses succeed,” said Makahla Harapat, MainStreet Director.

Collaborative Community Impact

“We are proud to support these important civic organizations and grateful for FHLB Dallas’ matching funds,” said Yvette Williams, President and CEO of Community 1st Bank. “Together, we’re helping build our local economy and improve quality of life.”

Greg Hettrick, Senior Vice President and Director of Community Investment at FHLB Dallas, emphasized the impact of PGP grants on smaller nonprofits.
“This grant is a great example of how PGP can boost economic development in rural areas,” he said. “Partnering with Community 1st Bank made this funding possible, and we’re proud to support the Las Vegas Arts Council and MainStreet de Las Vegas.”

The grant will directly contribute to sustaining creative and economic initiatives that enrich the Las Vegas, NM community while fostering growth and vibrancy in the region.
