Eastern Bank’s Legacy of Client-Centered Banking

Founded in 1818, Eastern Bank is one of the oldest and most trusted financial institutions in the United States. The bank’s mission has always been rooted in community service, integrity, and innovation, serving individuals, families, and businesses across New England with a full suite of financial services.

Through the integration of Cambridge Trust Private Banking, Eastern Bank has further strengthened its presence in the high-net-worth and business-owner market segments. The division offers a comprehensive platform that combines private banking, wealth management, and trust services, allowing clients to access the resources of a major financial institution while maintaining the personal touch of a boutique firm.

The private banking team works closely with clients to provide personalized solutions that evolve with their financial journey—whether they are in the early stages of building wealth, expanding their business, or preparing for legacy planning and intergenerational wealth transfer.

“Our private banking model is built on relationships, not transactions,” said Kerri Mooney. “We take the time to understand each client’s story, ambitions, and challenges. With leaders like Diana joining our team, we are better equipped than ever to deliver thoughtful, strategic guidance that truly reflects the values and goals of the people we serve.”

Empowering Clients Through Integrated Solutions

Cambridge Trust Private Banking operates with the philosophy that financial success is deeply personal. The division’s approach is not limited to managing assets—it extends to understanding clients’ professional goals, family dynamics, and long-term aspirations.

Private bankers at Cambridge Trust work collaboratively across departments, ensuring clients have access to integrated credit, deposit, investment, and trust services. This holistic model allows for more agile decision-making and proactive planning, especially for clients whose personal and business interests are closely intertwined.

Ms. Kenneally’s appointment is a reflection of this integrated strategy. Her expertise in escrow services and private equity transactions bridges the gap between personal financial management and corporate-level complexity—an increasingly valuable skill set as more business owners and investors seek cohesive financial solutions under one roof.

A Commitment to Excellence and Growth

Eastern Bank’s expansion of its private banking leadership comes at a pivotal moment for the institution. Following the merger with Cambridge Trust Company, the bank has reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining a strong culture of client service while leveraging its expanded scale and capabilities.

With over two centuries of legacy, Eastern Bank continues to evolve, combining innovation with personal relationships. The integration of professionals like Diana Kenneally signals not just an investment in talent, but a continuation of a tradition—one that places clients, communities, and relationships at the heart of banking.

“We’re entering an exciting phase of growth,” Mooney added. “Our goal is to deepen relationships and broaden our impact. The addition of seasoned leaders like Diana strengthens our ability to deliver sophisticated financial solutions while preserving the personalized service that defines Eastern Bank.”
