Following its recent merger with Cambridge Trust and a renewed focus on product development, wealth management, and private banking, Eastern Bank is excited to announce several key leadership appointments:
- Sujata Yadav has been appointed Chief Product Officer. Previously serving as Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, Yadav will now lead a centralized product team responsible for product strategy, development, and management. She has been instrumental in enhancing Eastern’s consumer offerings and will continue to drive innovation and revenue growth. Yadav joined Eastern in 2017 and has a background with Citibank N.A. She holds a BA from the University of Rajasthan and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management.
- Jeffrey F. Smith is the new Executive Vice President, Wealth Management. Smith will oversee the combined wealth management teams and private banking services, extending from Massachusetts to Connecticut. He joined Eastern Bank in July 2024 through the Cambridge Trust merger, bringing a wealth of experience from his prior roles at Rockland Trust and Scudder, Stevens & Clark. Smith has a CFP designation and a BA in Economics from the University of Vermont.
- Danielle Remis Hackel has been named Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer. Hackel, who joined Eastern Bank in July 2024, previously served as Chief Marketing Officer at Cambridge Trust. She will continue to drive branding, advertising, and marketing efforts. Hackel has experience at HarbourVest and State Street Global Advisors and holds a BA from Barnard College and an MBA from Columbia Business School. She also serves on the board of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
- Kerri A. Mooney is appointed Executive Vice President, Private Banking. Mooney will lead the private banking division, having previously served as Chief Deposit Officer at Cambridge Trust. Her prior roles include Director of Branches at HarborOne Bank and various leadership positions at Rockland Trust. Mooney is a Boston College graduate and has served on the advisory board for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts.
Bob Rivers, Executive Chair and Chair of the Board of Directors of Eastern Bank, praised the new leaders for their expertise and expressed confidence in their ability to drive the bank’s growth and client commitment. Denis Sheahan, CEO, also highlighted the importance of their roles in innovation and client experience.
