
Crescent Capital Group LP Announces New Senior Leadership Team”
Crescent Capital Group LP, a prominent alternative credit investment firm, has announced significant leadership changes effective immediately:
Christopher Wright, Managing Director and former Head of Private Credit, has been appointed President of Crescent Capital Group. With over 23 years of experience at Crescent, his promotion underscores his deep industry knowledge and strategic vision. In his new role, Wright will provide pivotal leadership alongside Managing Partners Mark Attanasio and Jean-Marc Chapus, representing Crescent in strategic initiatives and partnerships, including with SLC Management, a subsidiary of Sun Life Financial Inc. that acquired a stake in Crescent in 2021. Wright will continue to serve on Investment Committees and Crescent’s Operating and Executive Committees.
Joseph Viola, previously Chief Operating Officer, has been named Chairman of Crescent’s Operating Committee. Viola, who has also been with Crescent for more than 23 years, will oversee critical aspects of daily operations, including financial reporting and partnership matters with SLC. His extensive experience and institutional knowledge are instrumental in aligning operational strategies with Crescent’s stakeholder needs. Viola will retain his role on Crescent’s Executive Committee.
Jason Breaux, Managing Director and CEO of Crescent Capital BDC, Inc., joins Crescent’s Operating Committee. With over two decades at Crescent, Breaux brings expertise in managing registered funds and enhancing operational efficiency within Crescent’s investment platforms. His appointment strengthens Crescent’s strategic direction and commitment to sustainable growth. Breaux will continue to serve on Investment Committees and Crescent’s Executive Committee.
Mark Attanasio and Jean-Marc Chapus, Co-Founders and Managing Partners, will maintain their roles within Crescent’s Operating Committee and Investment Committees, focusing on client relationships and strategic initiatives. These leadership changes reflect Crescent’s evolution into a new phase of growth and expansion, acknowledging the significant contributions of its longstanding executives.

The newly formed Crescent Operating Committee includes Mark Attanasio, Jean-Marc Chapus, Christopher Wright, Joseph Viola, Jason Breaux, and John Fekete, Managing Director and Head of Public Credit.
About Christopher Wright: Christopher Wright joined Crescent in 2001 and now serves as President. He has led Crescent’s Private Markets and holds positions on the Operating and Executive Committees. Before Crescent, Wright completed the Financial Management Program at General Electric and held various finance roles at GE Industrial Systems. Wright earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BA from Michigan State University.
About Joseph Viola: Joseph Viola joined Crescent in 2001 and serves as Chairman of the Operating Committee and member of the Executive Committee. Prior to Crescent, Viola worked in the Leveraged Finance Group at TCW and holds leadership roles at Verbum Dei High School and the Catholic Education Foundation of Los Angeles. Viola received his MBA from USC’s Marshall School of Business and a BA from the University of San Diego.
About Jason Breaux: Jason Breaux joined Crescent in 2000 and serves as Managing Director within Private Credit, CEO of Crescent Capital BDC, Inc., and Chairs Crescent Private Credit Income Corp. Breaux previously worked at Robertson Stephens and Salomon Brothers. He earned his MBA from UVA’s Darden School of Business and AB from Georgetown University.
