Barclays has announced the appointments of Greg Petit as Head of Infrastructure, Power, and Utilities for Canada, and Ken Davis as Head of Western Canadian Coverage. Mr. Petit will be based in Toronto and report to Ryan Voegeli, Head of Investment Banking for Canada, while collaborating closely with Sean Diskin, Head of Power & Utilities for the Americas. Mr. Davis will work from Calgary, also reporting to Voegeli, and will coordinate with Mike Cormier, Global Head of the Energy Transition Group. Mr. Petit will join Barclays in December, and Mr. Davis is set to start in October.
“Greg and Ken’s extensive knowledge and deep relationships will greatly enhance our team, allowing Barclays to provide clients with innovative and tailored advice,” said Voegeli.
Greg Petit brings nearly two decades of experience in Investment Banking, having most recently led the Canadian Power, Utilities, and Infrastructure team at BMO Capital Markets. He has advised a diverse range of corporate, sponsor, and government clients across sectors including renewables, energy storage, and regulated utilities. His expertise in mergers, acquisitions, and financing will be vital as he collaborates with Barclays’ global Infrastructure, Power, and Utilities teams.
Ken Davis also has close to twenty years of experience, previously serving as Head of Canadian Natural Resources and Clean Energy Transition at Citi. His background includes a long tenure at Goldman Sachs, where he was a senior member of the Natural Resources Group. Davis brings extensive client coverage and execution expertise in mergers, acquisitions, and financing, enhancing Barclays’ connectivity with Western Canadian clients.
“Adding Greg and Ken strengthens our Canadian Investment Banking capabilities, supporting Barclays’ overall success,” Voegeli noted. Geoffrey Belsher, Chairman and Country Chief Executive Officer for Canada, added, “Their expertise will deepen our coverage of the infrastructure and energy transition sectors across North America, reaffirming our commitment to Western Canadian clients.”
The hires of Petit and Davis follow other strategic additions at Barclays, including Stephen Stewart, who recently joined as Head of M&A Execution for Canada.
With nearly a century of service in Canada, Barclays remains a leading global bank in the country, offering seamless access to Investment Banking, Global Markets, and Global Research coverage.
