Q5 Wealth Management, a group of five financial advisors overseeing $1.5 billion in client assets across Houston and Beaumont, Texas, has expanded with the addition of Scott Guptill, CFA. The team transitioned to the independent channel of Ameriprise Financial, Inc. (NYSE: AMP) in August 2024, after leaving UBS Financial Services, Inc. in search of more growth opportunities and access to Ameriprise’s advanced resources. Less than three months after joining, Q5 is already leveraging those resources to grow further, with Guptill bringing $100 million in client assets from his previous role at Morgan Stanley.
Guptill, who had long been familiar with financial advisors Mike and Ed Persia of Q5, decided to join their team after carefully assessing his growth goals. The move was driven by his desire to offer enhanced service to his high-net-worth clients and achieve greater operational efficiencies. Guptill had observed Q5’s successful transition to Ameriprise and recognized the potential benefits of joining a firm with cutting-edge capabilities.
“Q5 is an exceptional team, dedicated to putting clients first and empowering them to confidently achieve their financial goals,” said Guptill. “We share similar values and ambitions. Seeing their successful transition to Ameriprise and how they harnessed its innovative digital tools to improve client service was inspiring. I’m excited about our future together.”
Mike Persia added, “Our goal is to expand our reach and provide life-changing financial advice to high-net-worth individuals across the country. We’re excited to combine forces with Scott, whose elite business and commitment to concierge-level client service align perfectly with our vision.”
Ameriprise Field Vice President Logan Clipp, who supports Q5, expressed his enthusiasm about the team’s growth, stating, “Q5’s rapid success with us is a great example of what Ameriprise is all about—helping advisors expand their practices and enhance the client experience.”
Q5 Wealth Management is composed of financial advisors Omar Bitar, Jeremy Saba, Mike Persia, Ed Persia, and Brad Klein, as well as investment specialists Kevin Wagner and Ashley Carter, client service managers Sherri Thompson, Brandy Head, and Taryn King, and client concierge Dena McNiel.
Ameriprise has been a key destination for experienced financial advisors, with over 400 advisors joining the firm in 2023 and approximately 1,700 over the past five years, drawn by the firm’s ability to support and accelerate their business growth.
