Alpaca Expands into India’s GIFT City with Zincmoney IFSC Broker-Dealer Acquisition

Alpaca Announces Intent to Acquire Zincmoney IFSC, Establishing Regulated Presence in India’s GIFT City and Accelerating Global Expansion

Alpaca, a self-clearing broker-dealer and a global leader in brokerage infrastructure APIs, today announced its intention to acquire Zincmoney IFSC Private Limited (“Zincmoney”), a broker-dealer regulated by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) and headquartered in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City). The proposed acquisition marks a significant milestone in Alpaca’s international growth strategy and underscores its commitment to expanding access to modern financial services worldwide.Through this transaction, Alpaca will integrate Zincmoney’s India-focused brokerage licenses, regulatory approvals, and operational infrastructure into its global platform. GIFT City will serve as Alpaca’s regulated operational hub in India, enabling the company to enter one of the world’s fastest-growing financial markets while supporting domestic institutions and fintechs with compliant access to global investment opportunities.

The acquisition aligns with Alpaca’s broader mission to power the next generation of investing by providing scalable, API-driven brokerage infrastructure to brokers, banks, and fintech platforms around the world. By combining Alpaca’s global technology and multi-asset capabilities with Zincmoney’s local regulatory expertise and India-first product offerings, the company aims to deepen its presence across the Indian financial ecosystem.

The acquisition of Zincmoney is a critical step toward building truly global brokerage infrastructure,” said Yoshi Yokokawa, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Alpaca. “Zincmoney has built a strong foundation in GIFT City by working closely with Indian financial institutions and fintech partners. By bringing their team, licenses, and local market knowledge into Alpaca, we will be able to serve the Indian market as a regulated broker-dealer while supporting partners who need compliant access to U.S. securities and other global investing solutions.”

Zincmoney brings a comprehensive suite of investment capabilities spanning Indian and international markets. Its offerings include access to global securities, IFSC-listed investment products, and diversified portfolio solutions tailored for Indian households, particularly those planning for overseas education or managing restricted stock units (RSUs) from multinational employers. These capabilities will complement Alpaca’s existing multi-asset brokerage infrastructure, which includes U.S. equities, options, custody, and trading services delivered through modern, developer-friendly APIs.

In addition, the intended acquisition includes Zincmoney’s payment service provider (PSP) infrastructure, enabling seamless customer payments and fund transfers across India. This integration is expected to enhance Alpaca’s ability to support end-to-end investing and wealth management experiences for Indian partners and their customers.

Joining Alpaca allows us to significantly accelerate the vision we originally set out to build—making global investing and IFSC products accessible to Indian households through the financial platforms they already trust,” said Mayuresh Kini of Zincmoney IFSC. “By combining our regulatory expertise, distribution capabilities, and India-first product set with Alpaca’s global brokerage infrastructure, we believe we can unlock new opportunities for partners and investors alike.”

Following receipt of required regulatory approvals, Kini is expected to transition into the role of Chief Executive Officer of Alpaca India, leading the company’s local operations and expansion strategy. The combined organization will bring together teams with deep experience in brokerage operations, compliance, embedded finance, and cross-border investing, creating a strong foundation for long-term growth in India and beyond.

This intended acquisition further strengthens Alpaca’s position as a full-stack global brokerage infrastructure provider. By enabling brokers, banks, and fintech companies to rapidly launch compliant investing and wealth management products at scale, Alpaca continues to play a central role in shaping the future of global investing and financial access.
